I started writing THE MYSTERY OF AN OLD MURDER on a sunny film set in the south of France. The story developed on sets in cold Iceland, and windy New Zealand, but it was all worth it. When the novel was first published I was surprised that it landed on several bestseller lists almost instantanously. There is has remained ever since.
